KBShimmer She Twerks Out

16 Jun

When KBShimmer released their Early Summer 2014 line, I stalked the release dates and times. Finally, after missing another release because I got my time zones wrong, I gave up. Then, one glorious night on instagram, Ms. KBShimmer herself let me know that they were fully stocked. My fingers clicked on my phone in the dark (it was like 11pm, lol) and I ordered all the ones I wanted right away. I’ve already shown you KBShimmer PT Young Thing and next up is She Twerks Out. I cannot get over that name, its hilarious.

She Twerks Out is a lightly textured turquoise glitter bomb, with green and purple glitters thrown in to boot. Its naturally matte, which you can see in the blurry natural light picture below. My swatches are all done under artificial sunlight, so they’re shinier than the polish really is IRL. Either way, its gorgeous. This was three light coats. It can drag a little, but if you wait a little bit between coats you should be just fine. You guys, I love this polish!! I wore it on the boat last weekend and it was a perfect polish for a Summer day.

China Glaze Wish on a Starfish & Sand Dolla make you Holla

26 May

Summer is in full effect here y’all. It’s blazing hot outside already and it’s only May, but hey, I’m used to that here in summer Florida, but I think this Summer is going to be a doozy!

Back when it was still freezing and I was dreaming of the winter months I picked a couple shades from the China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection. They have no disappointed, you know I love a good texture, but I was down to nubs and polish obsession had hit a bump. I did show you Seahorsin’ Around with my favorite polish ever, Tripindicular, here, but then I held off. Well now that the Summer is in full swing I’m ready to show you these gorgeous shades from “sandy, sunny shore to the depths of the sea where the mermaids play.”

Wish on a Starfish was one of the first of the collection I tried. I LOVE the gold undertones in this polish. I did this swatch back when I was still living in nub city, but you can still see what a beauty it is. The texture in these polishes is not as extreme as other China Glaze texture. Their one downfall, however, is that they don’t have the same longevity as many other textures polishes, but they’re so pretty the tip wear is always worth it.

Sand Dolla make you Hollla was a big surprise to me. I didn’t really like the swatches I saw, but I grabbed it anyways because, you know, I can’t help myself. The milky white base and small multi colored glitters are actually tons of fun on the nail! It’s more sheer than the others, this is actually 4 coats, but it was so worth it. I’m not used to white polishes and I ended staring at my nails all day and falling in love with this polish! It’s so different from what I’m used to and it’s definitely a keeper in my stash. Both of the polishes are must haves!

Sindie Pop! Golden Raspberries

22 May

Sindie Pop! Golden Raspberries has been a lemming of mine for a long time. I dont even remember the first time I saw it. I’m sure it was instagram and I just fell in love. I cant remember why I didn’t order it with my first Sindie Pop! order, but I surely added it to my cart when I finally made my second order. This beauty is a raspberry colored base, with a slight golden shimmer, and then its jammed pack full of multi sized golden glitters. I LOVE IT. Its everything I thought it would be. It went on like a dream in three easy coats, but I did find that I needed to wait a little bit longer between coats than usual to let the glitter settle or the next coat would pull it. I covered it a heavy layer of HK Girl Top Coat and it is just perfection. It does dry slightly matte, hardly enough to notice, but a shiny top coat takes care of that problem.

I cannot recommend Sindie Pop! polishes anymore than I already have. I love them!!

Finger Paints Crystal Springs

14 May

Its been a long time since I haven’t really liked a nail polish. I mean, I’ve had a couple polishes that I know I wont ever wear again, but I honestly just dont like Crystal Springs. I dont know if its supposed to be a textured polish or not, but the bumps that the glitter shards create are driving me mad.  I even covered it with a thick coat of Gelous and another thick coat of HK Girl topcoat. My swatches below show three coats of Crystal Springs without any undies. I’m wondering if I would like it better if I used it as a one coat topper? Have you tried any of the FingerPaints Pastel Rain Collection? What do you think? 20140514-115748.jpg

Sindie Pop Sky Sparkle

12 May

Oh how I love a glitter filled crelly polish. I dont know how does those better than Jessica over at Sindie Pop. I LOVE every single polish I order from her. Sky Sparkle is no exception, plus the new labels are awesome!

Sky Sparkle has a white crelly base and it is full to the brim with multisized and shaped aqua glitters and little purple glitter hexes that are just perfect. This is three easy coats. I feel like you can see some VNL in the swatches, but it doesn’t show IRL. You guys, I love this polish! You need to grab it before her shop closes. Go now! 😉

Zoya Bubbly: The Entire Collection!

8 May

So far I’ve shown you Stassi and Muse from the Zoya Bubbly Collection. Below are the rest of the beauties from the collection and a reminder at how gorgeous Stassie and Muse are. 😉

Zoya Jesy is a metallic, flakie, shimmery coral color with golden undertones. That’s  A LOT of adjectives, right?! Its a gorgeous color and I know it will be even prettier on skin with a tan. This is 3 easy coats. There’s slight VNL, but not enough to worry over.

20140507-231407.jpg

Zoya Binx is a GORGEOUS purply pink metallic flakie. Zoya describes the entire Bubbly Collection as holographic sparkles, but they’re much more flakie like to me. Ethier way, Binx is beautiful. I have it on right now as I’m typing and the gold undertones are just amazing.

I have to admit, Zoya Harper is my favorite out of this collection. Its an amazing barbie/cotton candy pink with a gorgeous gold undertone. Its a stunner y’all, a stunner! I wore it for a day and did not want to take it off. I actually can’t wait to wear it again and I rarely wear a polish twice. 😉

Also, dont forget about Zoya Stassi, show on my middle finger here in 3 coats.

And Zoya Muse is on my pinky here alone in three coats.

The Bubbly Collection is just gorgeous. Every color is gorgeous and easy to wear on every skin tone. If you haven’t added these beauties to your stash yet, do it now!

Zoya Tilda & Stassi

6 May

Next up from the Zoya Tickled and Bubbly collection: Tilda and Stassi! Tilda is from Tickled and Stassi is from Bubbly.

Tilda is on my pointer and ring finger. This is two light coats with top coat. The first coat went on a little lumpy, but the second coat evened out perfectly.

Stassi is on my middle and pinky fingers. This is three light coats and a top coat. The application was a dream and I think I could have gotten full coverage if I had done my coats a little big heavier, so I have barely there VNL here.

These two are probably my least favorite colors out of the Tickled and Bubbly collections, BUT they are still gorgeous. If you’re a green lover you really need to add these to your stash. 🙂

LynB Designs Mind Palace

4 Feb

Mind Palace by LynB Designs is a gorgeous purple jelly filled to the brim with white, black, silver, and blue glitters of all different shapes and sizes. It really speaks to the Sherlock Fangirl in me. I LOVE IT.

This polish is right up my alley. Application is so easy, it goes on light and evens out on its own. This is three light coats with HK Girl Topcoat on top. This gorgeous squishy jelly is still available HERE and I think you need to get it NOW! No really, go get it!! 🙂

I’m back!

27 Jan

I know, I know, I’ve been gone a while, but I have a good reason! We bought a house!!!

20140126-210049.jpg
It’s exactly what we wanted and we couldn’t be happier. In this new house, I’ve gotten my own Just The Polish studio! I love it.

20140126-210251.jpg
I have some big plans for this room. I want to get a daybed and a work table. I also have some big plans for art. It’s so exciting!!

Now that I have my workspace set up, I’m back to blogging. I’ve missed it!

My first post back is a beauty by Hit Polish Nail Lacquers. Gilded Rose is a gorgeous bronze gold with multi sized glitters in rose, blue, and other colors. I usually don’t like bar glitters, but these are perfect. This was three easy, light coats, with a heavy layer of HK Girl topcoat to even it out. It would be a great Fall color.

China Glaze So Blue Without You & Your Present Required

20 Nov

The newest China Glaze HoliGlaze 2013 collection is TO DIE FOR! I think I got most of them in sets and on sale already at Sally’s.

So Blue Without You could have been a one coater, but I did two because I’m OCD. It went on smooth and easy. Its a gorgeous foil so it shows a little bit of brush marks, but not nearly enough to matter. I LOVE IT.

20131119-233650.jpg

20131119-233659.jpg

Your Present Required is right up my alley. First of all, I love presents. Second of all, I LOVE GLITTER! This is one coat dabbed over So Blue Without You. I did just dab it with the brush because I didn’t want full coverage. I love the white chunky glitter. Its really a fun polish.

I have more to show to you from this collection, Its not even December yet! Christmas is right around the corner and you should really add these fun Holiday polishes to your stash. 🙂
